WFMC Annual Members Meeting and other activities, November 10-11 2018, Kingston

There is a lot going on November 10-11 in Kingston! There are five separate events. The events on each day take place in close proximity (walking distance) one to the other. You can decide which of these you are available to join. Please let us know your plans!

The program for the weekend is organized in partnership with PeaceQuest. Please note that some events require that you pre-register (see links and information below). These include (1) the Saturday peace conference, “Imagining Peace: A Vision for Canada,” and (2) the Sunday afternoon Remembrance Day performance at the Isabel Bader Center, “The World Remembers: An Afternoon for Peace.”

Other gatherings require that you confirm your participation by phone (613 232-0647) or online here.

In the event that you are planning on attending and need accommodation, PeaceQuest has arranged a preferred rate at the Confederation Place Hotel, 237 Ontario Street. Use the code “Imagining Peace.” $119 per night, single or double occupancy, includes continental breakfast. Parking at the hotel is an additional $15/day.

“Imagining Peace: A Vision for Canada” All-day peace conference- Presentation of WFM – Canada World Peace Award and conference keynote address by Paul Rogers, at 9:30 am. 9:00 am to 4:00 pm- Memorial Hall, Kingston City Hall, 216 Ontario Street; Lunch included with ticket purchase Purchase tickets ($50) here. [OF NOTE: A limited number of tickets remain for this event.]
WFM – Canada reception honoring Paul Rogers Casual reception. Includes music, introductions by WFMC speakers and a few remarks by Paul Rogers. Light refreshments served; cash bar. Montes Pub- 5:00 to 7:00 pm- 200 Ontario St, Kingston (walking distance from conference site) Register to attend, here.
Dinner, WFM – Canada Board members and friends Sit-down dinner at Tango Nuevo Restaurant. Excellent Tapas menu. 7:30 pm- 331 King St. East, Kingston (walking distance from Montes) Send separate email to national office staff Fergus Watt (ferguswatt6@gmail.com) if you are free to attend.
Sunday November 11
WFM – Canada Annual Members Meeting Governance meeting for members of the World Federalist Movement Canada; takes place at Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning. 9:00 am to 11:45 am.- 370 King St. West, Kingston. Coffee, tea and refreshments available; Meeting documents will be available below. Printed copies also provided to all meeting delegates. Register to attend, here.– Also, let us know by email if you are unable to attend in person and would like to join the meeting by (Zoom) videoconference.
“The World Remembers: An afternoon for peace.” Remembrance Day performances with peace themes; Recognition of WFMC Peace Award recipient, Paul Rogers.
