The World Federalist Movement – Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP) has the opportunity to raise awareness and support for women’s leadership in areas of conflict prevention and international justice. WFM-IGP has been selected by the GlobalGiving Foundation to participate in its competitive Accelerator, a crowdfunding opportunity for nonprofits around the world, through which WFM-IGP has the chance to win bonus prizes, matching funds and gain access to GlobalGiving’s diverse, expansive donor base.

WFM-IGP launched a crowdfunding campaign to Empower Women Seeking Justice and Peace on September 11, and must raise at least $5,000 by September 29 in order to benefit from permanent membership with GlobalGiving.

Gender equality and the promotion of women’s rights is a cross cutting issue that is central to WFM-IGP’s mission of advancing the global promise of creating a safer and more just world, and is imperative to durable peace, security and sustainable development. All proceeds raised through this campaign will go towards our gender justice and women’s leadership initiatives run through the Coalition for the ICC and the International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect, including trainings for armed forces to recognize and stop sexual and gender based violence in Uganda and Côte d’Ivoire and workshops for women’s rights organizations in atrocity prevention and peacebuilding mechanisms.
